Cadiz vs Getafe 21/12/20

The two out-of-sorts La Liga sides go head-to-head at the Estadio Ramón de Carranza as Cadiz take on Getafe.

Cadiz have lost three of their last five La Liga fixtures (W1, D1), with two of those defeats coming by the same 4-0 scoreline. At home, the hosts had been on a five-game winless league streak (D2, L3) before beating Barcelona 2-1 in their last home La Liga outing. Indeed, that victory over Barca has been the first time this season that ‘El Submarino Amarillo’ have scored more than once in a home La Liga match. Notably, though, Cadiz have won each of their four competitive home clashes against Getafe, conceding just once across those encounters. But, if Alvaro Carvera’s men fail to keep a clean sheet here, it could well happen after the half-time break, as six (75%) of their eight home La Liga goals conceded have come in the second half.

Meanwhile, a 1-0 home defeat to Sevilla last time out gave Getafe a seventh consecutive La Liga match without a win (D3, L4), as they enter this clash sitting just two points clear of the relegation zone. Furthermore, no team has accrued fewer away league points than Getafe (3) so far, with the visitors remaining the only side yet to taste victory on the road this term (D3, L2). A genuine lack of firepower up front has seen ‘El Geta’ draw a blank in four of their five away La Liga fixtures this season, with both of their goals scored on the road coming beyond the 85th minute in a 2-2 stalemate with Valencia on Matchday 8. Also, Jose Bordalas’ men have conceded the opening goal in seven of their 12 league matches, returning just two points from such contests (D2, L5).
