Man City vs Man Utd 08/04/18

08 April 2018

A 3-0 midweek defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League has practically left Manchester City with minimal chances of advancing to the semi-finals, but the Citizens have the opportunity to celebrate a Premier League titles against their arch-rivals, Manchester United, in front of the home supporters this weekend, and Pep Guardiola is determined to give some consolation to the fans after another Champions League debacle. The Sky Blues are one victory away from capturing the EPL title in a season in which they’ve been outstanding and deserved to be at the top, but the Red Devils won’t surrender without a fight, especially considering their recent performance in the league. Jose Mourinho’s team have won four consecutive games in the Premier League including victories against Liverpool and Chelsea, and a stunning comeback against Crystal Palace in a match they’ve been two goals down. With fourteen wins in fifteen encounters at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City are by far the best home side in the league and United will have to put maximum efforts to avoid defeat.

Guardiola doesn’t have Sergio Aguero and Benjamin Mendy as both are struggling with injuries, while Daley Blind, Phil Jones, and the second-choice goalkeeper, Sergio Romero, will skip the encounter for the visitors.
