Roma vs Juventus 14/05/18

14 May 2018

With only one point away from wrapping up their seventh consecutive Serie A title, Juventus are set to face off Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, looking for their first away victory over the Rome giants since 2014. The Giallorossi have had a successful season, considering they’ve almost ensured Champions League football for the next year, and they’ve been eliminated from this Champions League campaign by Liverpool in the semi-finals. With two games to go, Eusebio Di Francesco’s team have a four-point lead over fifth-placed Inter, who are yet to play their game against Lazio, which is why Roma would need one point to formally secure the Champions League promotion spot. After four consecutive league victories, the Yellow and Reds are about to take on the best Italian side in the last seven years, hoping for a positive outcome. On the other hand, the Old Lady achieved two wins in a row in Serie A following a 1-0 loss to Napoli at the Allianz Stadium and avoiding defeat against the big rivals will see them grabbing another domestic title after lifting the Coppa Italia trophy in the midweek.

Rick Karsdorp, Grégoire Defrel, Diego Perotti, Konstantinos Manolas, and Bruno Peres are all struggling with injuries and will probably skip the encounter. As for the visitors, Juan Cuadrado is the only player who won’t be available due to a yellow card suspension.
