At the Kazan Arena, Germany will be playing against South Korea, looking for a win that will see them going past the group stage despite starting the tournament on the wrong foot. After a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Mexico in the first round of the group stage, Die Mannschaft had another difficult task, as Sweden took the lead in the first half, but thanks to Marco Reus and a late free-kick goal by Toni Kroos, the defending champions have managed to turn the match around and return to the promotion race. On the other hand, the Taegeuk Warriors lost all chances of advancing to the knockout stage after two defeats in the last two rounds as expected, considering the quality of the remaining three teams in Group F. Shin Tae-Yong’s players failed to show any attacking movements in the two previous games, as they have mainly concentrated on keeping a clean sheet, which ultimately left them without a chance of reaching the round of 16 for the third time since 2010.

Jerome Boateng who picked up a red card against the Blue-Yellow will skip the encounter, with Niklas Sule expected to take his place due to some physical problems from Mats Hummels. As for South Korea, Seung-Woo Lee who replaced Ju Se-Jong in a match against Mexico might start from the first minute.
