Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa vs Barcelona 01/11/18

1 November 2018

After a spectacular 5-1 triumph over Real Madrid in El Clasico, Barcelona will be heading towards Leon to meet the local side Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa in Copa del Rey round of 32, with the match scheduled to take place at the Estadio Reino de Leon.

A team that currently perform in the Segunda Division Group 1 have eliminated Lorca FC in the previous Cup round by three goals to nil, which was their fifth triumph in the last six competitive games. La Leonesa have won three out of five home clashes this season, having scored eleven goals in the process, which makes them the best offensive team in their respective division. Moreover, La Cultu conceded more than one goal only twice in the past ten encounters across all competitions, having kept a clean sheet four times in the process.

On the other hand, the Blaugrana have secured all three wins after the international break, having defeated Sevilla, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid, as they currently top La Liga as well as their respective Champions League group. With 28 goals scored so far, the Catalans have by far the best goal scoring record in the Spanish top flight, as they’ve also managed to score a brace in 60% of their league clashes. However, Ernesto Valverde’s main concern relates to his team’s defensive performance, as they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet eight times in the previous eleven games in all competitions.
