Tottenham Hotspur vs Inter Milan 29/11/18

29 November 2018

Tottenham Hotspur prepare to take on Inter Milan at the Wembley Stadium in what is going to be their most important game of the season so far, considering they are obliged to take a whole pray to close the gap on the Serie A giants.

On the eve of the fifth Champions League fixture, Tottenham trail Inter by three points and they have to secure all three points to avoid early elimination. A slow start of their European campaign has seen the Spurs losing 2-1 to the Nerazzurri on the road and 4-2 to Barcelona in London. Moreover, Mauricio Pochettino’s men failed to beat PSV in the third round, playing out a 2-2 draw in the Netherlands before performing a stunning second-half comeback to clinch a 2-1 home triumph over the Dutch side. However, Tottenham’s defensive frailties have seen them concede nine goals in four European clashes so far, as they are yet to keep a clean sheet outside the Premier League. But, Harry Kane and his fellow teammates have scored a minimum of two goals three times up to this point in their effort to annul clumsy defensive performances.

On the other hand, the visitors have secured a pair of wins in their opening two Champions League fixtures against Tottenham and PSV, both after coming back from behind. However, the Milanese heavyweights have failed to wrap up a victory in two meetings with Barcelona, having suffered a 2-0 defeat in Catalonia before being held to a 1-1 draw in front of the home crowd. As well as their rivals, Inter have failed to keep a clean sheet in all of their four European games, while they have struggled to find the back of the net once in the run. But, Luciano Spalletti’s men come confidently into this duel following a 3-0 win over Frosinone in Serie A last weekend.
