Frosinone vs AC Milan 26/12/18

26 December 2018

After a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Fiorentina, AC Milan will head to the Stadio Benito Stirpe to take on a vulnerable Frosinone side looking to break a three-game Serie A winless run.

Winless in their last seven league outings, the Canaries currently sit deep in the relegation zone, having secured just one triumph after their opening 17 Serie A clashes. The returnees have been struggling for positive results since reaching the top flight, as they now go in search of their elusive first home win this campaign (D4, L4). Furthermore, their tally of ten defeats is the league’s high at the moment. No team scored fewer goals at home than Frosinone (6) this season, with the Yellow-Light Blues failing to find the back of the net four times in eight home encounters so far. What’s more, Marco Baroni’s men have conceded 16 goals at home, keeping a clean sheet just once, which is the second-worst record in the Italian top-tier competition.

On the other hand, a poor haul of just six points in their last six Serie A clashes has seen Milan losing the fourth place to Lazio. The Rossoneri are winless in their last four competitive matches (D2, W2) as Gennaro Gattuso has to lead his team to a victory in this encounter if looking to keep his job safe. Furthermore, the 7-time Champions League winners have failed to hit the back of the net three times in a row, playing out two consecutive scoreless draws with Bologna and Torino before losing to Fiorentina. Milan’s indifferent road form (W2, D4, L2) could be a major influence here, especially considering Gattuso’s men have struggled to achieve all three points on their last two road trips. For Milan, goals have been at a premium when it comes to their away games, with only 25% of their road meetings producing over 2.5 goals.
