AS Roma vs Bologna 19/02/19

19 February 2019

Encouraged by a 2-1 home win over Porto in the Champions League, AS Roma host Bologna to the Stadio Olimpico chasing back-to-back Serie A wins that would see them keeping up a pace with fourth-placed AC Milan.

The hosts have racked up a six-game SA lossless run (W4, D2) having scored 2+ match goals five times in the process. What’s more, the Giallorossi are unbeaten in their last seven home clashes across all competitions (W5, D2) in which they’ve scored 18 goals while conceded nine. Eusebio Di Francesco’s men tend to kill the game off already in the first half having scored over 1.5 goals in the first period three times in their previous four SA home outings. A potential worry for Roma boss could be that his players have struggled to keep a clean sheet in seven consecutive SA home games, allowing 2+ match goals four times during that sequence.

Meanwhile, the relegation-threatened visitors have managed to dodge failure in their last two SA appearances (W1, D1) but they still sit three points adrift of the 17th-placed Empoli. Bologna’s main problem concerns their performance away from home that has seen them pulling off just one triumph on 12 SA road trips (W1, D5, L6), but their only win came against Inter Milan in their last away meeting. Only three teams have scored fewer goals on the road than the Rossoblu (10) this term, with Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men failing to find the back of the net in five SA away games. Moreover, the Greyhounds have conceded 2+ match goals in seven games on the road, managing just three clean slates so far.

AS Roma have won three of last four H2H meetings with Bologna at this venue (W3, D1), with the visitors failing to hit the net three times in the process.
