Parma vs Napoli 25/02/19

25 February 2019

After securing their place in the Europa League last-16, Napoli return to the Serie A action as they prepare to tackle a struggling Parma team at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

The hosts have failed to clinch a victory in four of their previous SA outings (D1, L3), allowing nine goals while scoring six in the process. Parma’s defensive frailties have seen them concede over 1.5 goals per match in four of their last six SA clashes, which is the main reason they’ve tumbled down to the 12th place. Moreover, the Crusaders are winless in their previous five SA home meetings (D2, L3) having failed to hit the back of the net three times along the way. Probably the biggest problem for Roberto D’Aversa is the fact his players have lost all of their four home encounters with the top-five sides so far, bagging just one goal while conceding seven.

Meanwhile, the visitors seem to have lost any chance of closing the gap on Juventus after playing out back-to-back goalless draws with Torino and Fiorentina. Still, the Blues are unbeaten in their last six SA meetings (W3, D3), preserving a clean slate in four consecutive league games ahead of this trip. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s men have failed to live up to expectations when it comes to their road displays. The Partenopei have just two triumphs on their last seven road trips across all competitions, struggling to find the net five times in the process. Thanks to stubborn defending, six of Napoli’s previous seven away games have produced under 2.5 goals, with five of them ending with one goal or less.
