Paris Saint-Germain vs Dijon 27/02/19

27 February 2019

Paris Saint-Germain welcome Dijon to Parc des Princes for Coupe de France quarter-finals clash looking to stretch their winning run against the struggling visitors to seven games.

The hosts continue to gather momentum even though they are deprived of Neymar’s services having racked up a six-game winning run across all competitions. Moreover, five of PSG’s last six victories have seen them beating their rivals to nil, with Thomas Tuchel’s men scoring 15 goals in the process. Additionally, the reigning Ligue 1 holders have put together six successive home wins after a shock 2-1 loss to Guingamp, scoring 3+ match goals on four occasions during the run. Tuchel has nothing to complain about when it comes to his team’s defensive displays, as Paris Saint-Germain kept six clean sheets in their previous ten home outings, restricting their rivals to a maximum of one goal per match three times.

Meanwhile, the visitors come into this meeting off the back of a 1-0 loss to St. Etienne, which was their third successive defeat after picking up a routine 3-1 win over lower-league side IC Croix in the previous round of Coupe de France. Les Rouges are struggling away from home having secured just three wins on their last ten road trips across all competitions (W3, D1, L6). What’s more, Antoine Kombouare’s men have conceded over 1.5 goals per match in six games in that period, barely preserving a clean sheet once in the process. Kombouare has every reason to fear for his side’s faith in this encounter considering Dijon lost all three of their previous H2H meetings with PSG at this venue, conceding 13 goals without scoring a single one.
