Genoa vs Juventus 01/07/20

01 July 2020

Juventus head to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris to take on a Genoa side they’ve lost to in three of their last five Serie A H2Hs held at this venue (W2).

The hosts have endured mixed fortunes in Serie A this calendar year (W4, D3, L4), with eight of their 11 league games since the turn of the year seeing over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet, including the last four (W1, D1, L2). Notably, none of Genoa’s previous ten Serie A home games has ended in a stalemate (W3, L7), with seven of those results (win/loss) seeing the winner on the day concede at least one goal. In turn, none of their seven previous top-flight H2Hs held at this stadium has produced a draw (W3, L4), with the winning side scoring over 1.5 goals on five of those occasions. Genoa’s tendency to go ‘all-out-attack’ after the break has seen 62.16% of their total Serie A home goals (scored/conceded) come in the second half (23/37).

Meanwhile, the visitors have recorded five consecutive league wins ahead of this trip, four of which yielded a clean sheet and a full-time margin of two or more goals, to move four points clear of Lazio at the top of the table. Interestingly, the reigning champions have won four of their last six Serie A away clashes (L2), with five of those results producing the identical 2-1 scoreline. But, a lack of concentration after the break has seen Juventus allow 71.43% (ten) of their 14 Serie A away goals conceded in the second half while scoring only 47.62% of their goals in the same timeframe (10/21).
