Kashiwa Reysol vs Gamba Osaka 09/09/20

09 September 2020

Kashiwa Stadium and Gamba Osaka go head-to-head at the Hitachi Kashiwa Stadium, as the home side look to extend an unbeaten run in their J1 League H2Hs to four (W2, D1).

The hosts have endured mixed fortunes in their last five J1 League fixtures (W2, D1, L2), with four of those games seeing over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet. It’s been ‘all or nothing’ for Kashiwa at home this term (W3, L4). Notably, six of those seven results (wins/losses) have come despite a -1 handicap. But, Kashiwa’s success will hinge on whether they can find the opening goal or not. Indeed, they’ve lost all three of their home league games in which they conceded the opener. Also, lapses of concentration after the break have seen the ‘Reysol’ allow 13 (86.67%) of the 15 home J1 League conceded in the second half of play.

Meanwhile, a 4-1 away win over Vegalta Sendai last time out have Gamba a first league triumph after three consecutive failures (D1, L2), with each of those three results seeing over 3.5 goals and both sides hit the net. Far more comfortable away from home, Tsuneyasu Miyamoto’s men have returned 14 of the total 23 J1 League points on the road (60.87%) and are one of only two sides yet to lose on foreign soil (W4, D2). Interestingly, four of Gamba’s six top-flight away fixtures have witnessed over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet. Quick-out of the blocks, Gamba have opened the scoring in five of those six trips!
