Kashiwa Reysol vs Vissel Kobe 10/10/20

10 October 2020

Kashiwa Reysol and Vissel Kobe line up against each other at the Hitachi Kashiwa Stadium for a potentially high-scoring J1 League contest. Indeed, four of their last five league H2Hs have witnessed over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet.

Kashiwa’s inability to deliver consistency has seen them pick up only two wins from their last five J1 League outings (W2, D1, L2), both of which were ‘to nil.’ Yet, the hosts have been quite prolifc when winning at home this season, netting over 2.5 goals in each of their four home league triumphs so far on an average of 3.75 goals per win. On the flip side, they have conceded precisely three goals in four of five J1 League home defeats in 2020/21, letting in over 1.5 second-half goals in each. Indeed, Nelsinho Baptista’s men have registered the vast majority (84.21%) of their home league goals conceded against this term in the second half of play (16/19). Kashiwa must be confident of winning here, though, as they’ve outplayed Kobe in each of their previous seven top-flight H2Hs as hosts.

Meanwhile, the visitors have overseen a notable upturn in results lately, going from seven J1 League matches without a win (D4, L3) to four consecutive triumphs. Despite three of those successes yielded a single-goal margin, all but one saw Kobe score over 2.5 goals and find the net at least once inside the opening 20 minutes of play. The ‘Ushi’ have been an exciting team to watch on the road recently too, considering all of their last seven away league fixtures have seen both teams on the scoresheet, with six producing over 2.5 total goals (W3, D2, L2). Even if they concede the opener as they did in four J1 League trips this term, Atsuhiro Miura’s men are unlikely to surrender – Kobe have suffered just one loss from applicable games (W2, D1, L1).
