Inter Milan vs Napoli 12/03/18

12 March 2018

Inter’s hopes of securing the Champions League spot have dropped notably since the late December, as the Nerazzurri failed to win six out of their previous eight Serie A meetings, allowing their city rivals, AC Milan, to close the gap and get back in the race. After five consecutive draws, Luciano Spalletti’s side has managed to beat Bologna and Benevento, losing to Genoa in the meantime. Napoli have to step up their game if they want to walk away from Giuseppe Meazza with three points following a miserable 4-2 defeat to Roma at the Stadio San Paolo last weekend. The Light Blues are still residing at the top of the table, but in case they fail to win against Inter, catching Juventus afterward would be almost a “mission impossible.” Mauricio Sarri’s team are desperate to extend their 6-game winning streak away from Naples, but considering the fact the Milanese giants have only lost once at home this season, it will be a difficult task.

Andrea Ranocchia is in doubt after suffering a thigh injury, while the talented youngster, Assane Gnoukouri, has some heart problems, which is why he will remain on the stands. As for Napoli, Leandrinho, Faouzi Ghoulam, and Vlad Chiriches will all miss the game because of injuries.
