Crystal Palace vs Liverpool 31/03/18

31 March 2018

After seven consecutive games without a victory in the Premier League and four straight losses, Crystal Palace have finally managed to secure all three points just before the international break by beating Huddersfield at the Kirklees Stadium by two goals to nil. Now, they have a difficult task to stop in-form Liverpool side, who won four out of their previous five EPL matches, including a stunning 5-0 victory over Watford at home in last round. The Eagles have lost two consecutive games at the Selhurst Park, and they are desperate to end this negative streak and increase their odds of remaining in the top-flight for another season. The Reds, on the other hand, are very close to securing the Champions League football second time in a row, as they already have a seven-point lead over fifth-place Chelsea, who has one game less than the Merseysiders. Jurgen Klopp’s attacking trident looks unstoppable in 2018 and Roy Hodgson will have to come up with something special to stop Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Firmino from scoring.

The home side will enter this encounter notably weakened, as Scott Dann, Jason Puncheon, Bakary Sako, Jeffery Schlupp, Alexander Sorloth, Julian Speroni, and Joel Ward are all struggling with injuries, while the appearance of Wilfried Zaha still hangs in the balance. As for the visitors, Nathaniel Clyne is yet to recover from back injury, while Dejan Lovren could be fit after suffering ankle injury with Croatia
