Udinese vs AS Roma 24/11/18

24 November 2018

A struggling Udinese side welcome AS Roma to the Dacia Arena looking to bring a frustrating record of seven successive matches without a victory to an end.

The Friulian White-blacks have lost six out of their last seven Serie A clashes, as they rapidly head towards the relegation zone. Apart from Frosinone and Chievo, who are yet to win a game at home, the Little Zebras have the third-worst home record in the Italian top flight, considering they’ve lost four out of six matches in Udine while being held to one draw after a 1-0 victory over Sampdoria back in August. Not only they’ve lost the last four home games, but they’ve also failed to find the back of the net three times in a row. Their defensive frailties have seen them concede 18 goals in 12 league games. Just five teams have allowed more goals than Udinese in Serie A so far this campaign. Davide Nicola, who took charge of the team during the international break, will try to revive the team that has just two clean sheets in the league and has failed to find the back of the net four times so far.

Meanwhile, a 4-1 victory over Sampdoria just before the international break has seen the visitors bringing a 3-game league winless streak to an end. Lack of consistency and numerous ups and downs have so far highlighted Roma’s season, as they currently sit 6th in the table, with a record of five wins, four draws, and three losses. Apart from a 2-0 win over Empoli, the Giallorossi have struggled to achieve a victory in the last five road matches, having played out two straight draws to Napoli and Fiorentina with an identical 1-1 scoreline. La Lupa have kept a clean sheet three times in the opening 12 Serie A outings, having allowed a minimum of two goals on five occasions so far. In the meantime, Edin Dzeko and his fellow club colleagues have failed to score a goal two times this season, while they’ve bagged a minimum of two goals six times this campaign.
