Atletico San Luis vs Atletico Madrid 04/08/19

4 August 2019

Atletico San Luis will welcome Atletico Madrid to the Estadio Alfonso Lastras for a friendly meeting that will see the visitors trying to maintain an impressive pre-season form.

With the Mexican national championship well underway, the hosts have already hit a competitive form, although they’ve registered partial success in the opening two Liga MX round of fixtures (W1, L1). Los Tuneros go into this clash off the back of a 1-1 away draw with UNAM Pumas in Copa Mexico, which was their fifth consecutive game that has featured under 2.5 goals. Interestingly, although none of Los Potosinos’ last four matches have seen both teams score, all nine of their outings prior have witnessed at least one goal at both ends. Also, Alfonso Sosa’s men have suffered just one defeat in their last ten home games (W5, D4, L1), keeping a clean sheet five times across those clashes.

On the other hand, the visitors have secured four wins in as many their pre-season matches so far, one of which has come against the Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara after a penalty shootout. All three of their remaining triumphs have seen them score three or more goals, with two of them ending with the same 3-0 scoreline. Also, two of those wins have seen Los Colchoneros lead at the halftime break and find the net in the final five minutes of the first period. Moreover, seven of Atletico’s previous ten games have produced over 2.5 goals, with Diego Simeone’s men failing to keep a clean sheet four times in the process.
