AC Milan vs Juventus 28/10/2017
The man in the middle won’t be playing in Italy’s hottest derby. Leonardo Bonucci, sold to Milan in the summer, will be serving a two-match ban. The defender is suspended and won’t face former club Juventus.
Both teams, with 51 Scudetti shared between them, will do battle in Milan. They duly warmed up with 4-1 wins in midweek. But for Milan, it was a vital one as they are basically fighting to save head coach Vincenzo Montella’s job.
Juventus have given the perfect response following a shock 2-1 home defeat to Lazio early in the month. They have since plundered 10 goals past Udinese and SPAL, giving them 31 strikes in total. That was their best haul in a season opening ten-game stretch for 67 years!
February 2012 was the last time both teams played out to a draw. Since then, Milan have won twice, while Juventus have won eight.
Claudio Marchisio and Stefano Sturaro are back for Juventus, but Blaise Matuidi, Medhi Benatia, Marko Pjaca and Benedikt Howedes are still undergoing treatment. Milan are at full strength save for Davide Calabria and Jack Bonaventura, who join Andrea Conti on the treatment table.
