Barcelona and Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa will face-off at the Camp Nou in the second leg of the fourth round of Copa del Rey following Barca’s narrow 1-0 triumph in the first encounter.
The Catalans are one step away from securing their place in the round of 16 as they look to stretch their winning run against Leonesa in H2H meetings to four. After a turbulent period that has seen them failing to wrap up a victory three times in a row, the reigning La Liga champions have captured two straight wins, beating PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League before outplaying Villarreal at home in La Liga. However, Ernesto Valverde can’t be happy with his team’s defensive performance this season, as Barcelona struggled to keep a clean sheet in 14 out of 20 competitive matches so far. Still, the Catalan giants are the only Spanish team this year to score at least one goal in all of their competitive games up to this point.
Meanwhile, the visitors come into this encounter with a stressful 6-game winless streak. Additionally, Leonesa have failed to secure a victory four times in a row when it comes to their road trips. After losing to Barcelona in Copa del Rey, La Leonesa have played out four straight draws before suffering a frustrating 1-0 loss to Salmantino in Segunda División B – Group 1. Their defensive frailties have seen them concede nine goals in their last seven competitive games. On the other hand, Victor Cea’s players are experiencing immense problems in the final third, as they have scored one goal or less six times in the previous eight matches across all competitions.
