Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid 27/9/2017
Not sure whether they are sick of facing each other, but it will be the fifth time in six seasons both teams are paired up. Dortmund, though, have a proud home record against Real Madrid. They have never lost at home, grinding out three wins and three draws. Real Madrid may have fallen short of smashing Santos’ record of scoring in 74 consecutive games, but they are riding on another fine streak of scoring in 37 successive UCL games.
Defending champions Real opened their group campaign with a 3–0 win at home to APOEL while Dortmund suffered a 3–1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur a fortnight ago. The Yellow & Black Brigade warmed up for this heavyweight showdown with a 6-1 drubbing of Borussia Moenchengladbach. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted a hat-trick, taking his tally to eight goals in six league games. Left winger Max Philipp has been sensational as well, scoring four goals in his last three games. Real are struggling in the league, already trailing leaders Barcelona by seven points. Cristiano Ronaldo is also awaiting to grab his first goal of the season after a five-match suspension.
