Brighton vs Man City 13/8/2017
An air of expectancy hits The Amex Stadium as newbies Brighton welcome Man City. This is the first competitive meeting between these clubs since a League Cup meeting back in September 2008. Then, City were just a month into the Sheikh Mansour era. Fast forward nine years, and the mega rich owners have funded manager Pep Guardiola’s summer spending like there’s no tomorrow. 200 million pounds worth of talent have been brought in, such as Bernardo Silva, Ederson, Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy. Not sure how Pep is going to fit them in, but it looks like Sergio Aguero might get a chance to start alongside the promising Gabriel Jesus. Aguero has a lovely record on the opening day, with five goals in his six editions.
