Celta Vigo vs Barcelona 18/04/18
Celta’s disappointing season continued over last weekend as Leganes defeated them 1-0 at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque, and they are now set to host La Liga leaders, Barcelona, who are hoping for a win that will see them wrapping up the league title. Although they are not playing attractive football like in some previous seasons, the Blaugrana demonstrated great continuity and stability this year, while Celta failed to provide the same quality under Juan Carlos Unzué they’ve shown under Eduardo Berizzo, but the Europa League promotion spot is still a possibility for the Célticos. Over the last two seasons, Barcelona were unable to find the way to defeat Celta at Balaídos losing two times in a row, conceding eight goals in the process, and Valverde will have to figure out how to stop Iago Aspas, who simply can’t stop scoring against the Catalan team. With three victories in last five matches at home, the hosts will be looking to surprise Barcelona, who only won one of their previous five away games.
Pablo Hernández and Hugo Mallo have accumulated five yellow cards and will have to skip the encounter for the home side, while Lucas Digne and Ivan Rakitic are sidelined with injuries in the visiting squad.
