Chelsea vs Man City 01/10/2017
Man City have helped themselves to 21 league goals so far, a stat only bettered by Newcastle and Man Utd, who had 22 at this stage back in the 1994/95 and 2011/12 season respectively. Ominously, both teams didn’t went on to win the title!
Still, the Stamford Bridge trip will present City a chance to put their awful record there to bed. The Citizens have won just once in their last seven trips there.
Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Morata will play a major say in where the points will be headed, and this duo is chasing legacy. Aguero is one short of matching Robin van Persie’s record of scoring in nine straight EPL games. The Argentine also needs just one more to match the tally of the club’s all-time top goalscorer, Eric Brook.
Alvaro Morata has netted six goals in his first six EPL appearances, half of the goals coming at Stoke last weekend, a 4-0 rout for Chelsea. He will have to net at least three goals here to match Diego Costa’s haul of 9 goals in his first seven EPL turnouts.
