Chelsea vs Southampton 16/12/2017
Chelsea slipped up last Saturday at West Ham but recovered swiftly with a 3-1 win over Huddersfield. They next host Southampton, who they have beaten in all three previous meetings.
The Saints last won at Stamford Bridge in October 2015, a 3-1. That’s a rarity given that the south coast side have kept just one clean sheet in their last 24 EPL matchups against Chelsea, a goalless draw on Boxing Day 2002.
Charlie Austin is the man of the hour as Southampton attempt to crack the Chelsea backline. The Englishman has scored eight goals in his last 12 EPL starts, including four in his last four matches.
Southampton have a fully-fit squad to select from ahead of their trip. As for Chelsea, Alvaro Morata remains a doubt after missing Tuesday’s win. David Luiz also remains rooted on the sidelines but Danny Drinkwater should be ok after making a substitute appearance.
