Chelsea vs Stoke 30/12/2017
At stake is a six-year unbeaten record as the champions Chelsea head into the year-end closer. Since 2011, when they lost 3-1 at home to Aston Villa, the Blues have not lost their last EPL match in a calendar year.
Good thing they are up against the out-of-form Stoke, whom they have won 25 points from a possible 27 in the past nine EPL meetings here at Stamford Bridge.
Willian loves to play against Stoke too, having scored four EPL goals against Stoke; more than the Brazilian has against any other opponent.
It’s not the best of news for Stoke, who sit 13th, just three points away from the drop zone.
The Potters have lost 14 EPL matches against Chelsea, more than they have against any other opponent (W2, D3, L14).
Stoke manager will have to rally his troops fast as they face a defensive crisis. Kurt Zouma is unavailable to play against his parent club, while Ryan Shawcross and Bruno Martins Indi are both out injured.
David Luiz remains absent for Chelsea, while the impressive Andreas Christensen will be back from injury to replace old warhorse Gary Cahill.
