Eintracht Frankfurt and TSG Hoffenheim kick off their 2019-20 Bundesliga (BL) season at the Commerzbank-Arena this weekend.
The hosts have secured five wins in as many outings across all competitions this term, four of which have seen them score 2+ match goals. Encouraged by a strong start to the new season, Die Adler will look to bring their disappointing six-game winless BL streak to a halt (D2, L4). Winless in their last three BL home games (D1, L2), Frankfurt have struggled to find the net twice across those matches, allowing over 1.5 match goals twice too. However, Launische Diva’s recent home H2H record against Hoffenheim can comfort Adi Hütter (W1, D2), even though his players have netted 2+ match goals only once across those clashes.
Meanwhile, a penalty-shootout win over the lower-league side Wurzburger Kickers last time out has propelled the visitors to the second round of DFB Pokal. Still, just like their rivals, Die Kraichgauer endured a tough ride in the final stage of last season, losing three of their previous four BL games (D1, L3). Hoffenheim’s last five BL matches have not been short of entertainment though as four of them have featured over 3.5 goals and seen both teams score. But, Hoffenheim’s indifferent away form in 2019 can be a problem here (W3, D4, L2), with eight of those games witnessing both teams score while seven producing over 2.5 goals.
