Germany vs Mexico 30/6/2017
Mexico are the undisputed comeback kings, having to come from behind in all their group matches. They came back twice against Portugal, and recovered from one-goal deficits against New Zealand and Russia. This is something that Germany head coach Joachim Loew would like to reiterate in his team talk. The world champions have brought their second-stringers, and they have admirably stepped up. Striker Timo Werner has got off the mark after notching a brace against Cameroon, and will be hungry for more. Mexico also have a star in the making, Hirving Lozano that is. The 21-year- old winger scored the winner against Russia early in the second half. Interestingly, Germany have scored all their seven goals before the hour mark, while Mexico have grabbed all their goals only after hour mark. Both teams clashed in the 2005 edition on German soil. The home team won a 4-3 thriller.
