In-form Atalanta head to the Allianz Stadium to take on Juventus, desperate to put an end to a disastrous 30-game winless streak in the Serie A H2Hs (D6, L24).
Runaway Serie A leaders suffered a disappointing 4-2 away loss to AC Milan last time out despite enjoying a 2-0 lead going into the final half an hour of play. That now means that all of Juventus’ last three league matches have seen over 3.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet, with 12 of the 15 goals scored/conceded across those fixtures coming after the break. In turn, the majority (61.54%) of Juve’s Serie A home goals scored this season arrived in the second half of play (24/39), which makes the ‘Bianconeri’ the division’s second-best second-half attacking side. Also, Maurizio Sarri’s men enter the round as the only Italian team yet to lose at home this season (W14, D1), with eight of those triumphs producing at least a two-goal margin.
Meanwhile, the visitors have been relentless since the resumption of football in June, winning all six of their Serie A matches in the post-pandemic period. While five of those wins saw Atalanta score over 2.5 goals, the last three have been accompanied by keep a clean sheet, too. Additionally, Gian Piero Gasperini’s players have racked up five straight league away victories ahead of this trip, scoring precisely seven goals per match twice and netting a total of 20. In fact, ‘La Dea’ are the only Serie A side to smash a 40-goal barrier on the road this season (41 goals scored), netting over 1.5 goals in 73.33% (11) of their 15 top-flight trips so far.
