Juventus and Lazio come face-to-face at the Allianz Stadium in a massive Serie A showdown that promises some fireworks. Each of their last three competitive H2Hs has witnessed at least three goals and both teams score, with two seeing the winner on the day come from behind to seal three points.
Juventus had got off to a flying Serie A start since the resumption of football, securing four consecutive victories, all of which came via at least a two-goal margin. However, runaway league leaders have lost their momentum in the recent period, as they take the field after failing to pick up three points in three consecutive Serie A games (D2, L1). Still, the ‘Bianconeri’ have been an exciting team to watch lately, with each of their last five league fixtures seeing over 2.5 goals and both sides on the scoresheet. Although Juve boast by far the most intimidating home record this season (W14, D2), they now take on a team they’ve lost to in two of their last three top-flight H2Hs held in Turin (W1).
As for the visitors, they’ve collapsed since the Serie A’s restart, losing four of seven league matches since June’s resumption (W2, D1). Curiously, though, five of those six results (win/loss) yielded a single-goal margin, with four producing the identical 2-1 scoreline. By extension, all eight of Lazio’s previous Serie A away games have ended separating the sides by under 1.5 goals (W4, D2, L2), with five of them featuring over 2.5 goals and both teams scoring. Yet, Simone Inzaghi will be desperate to see his side shore up their defensive problems before the break. Indeed, the ‘Biancocelesti’ have shipped 63.16% (12) of the 19 Serie A away goals conceded this season in the first half of play.
