Juventus will be going after their tenth successive competitive triumph at home when they take on Sassuolo at the Allianz Stadium this weekend.
The hosts have hit a purple patch in the recent period, racking up a six-game winning streak in all competitions. Although they are unbeaten in all 18 competitive matches this term (W15, D3), the reigning Serie A (SA) holders have not been as convincing as expected, with 11 of those triumphs coming via a single-goal margin. Still, the Turin giants have won all nine of their competitive home games this season, scoring 2+ match goals in all but two of those successes. Moreover, Maurizio Sarri’s men had opened the scoring in seven of those matches. Another triumph is undoubtedly on the cards here, given that Juventus came off better in all six of their top-flight home H2Hs with Sassuolo, conceding just two goals while scoring 18 across those clashes.
As for the visitors, they are not enjoying the best of times, having picked up just one win in their last four SA outings (W1, D1, L2). Still, all of those games have featured at least three goals and witnessed both teams hit the net. Although they enter this encounter as big underdogs, the ‘Neroverdi’ can draw inspiration from their last two SA road trips (W1, D1) that have helped them erase the memory of three successive away defeats from the beginning of the season. A lack of away goals could trouble Roberto De Zerbi here, as his side bagged just six of their total 22 SA goals on the road (27%).
