Manchester City vs Napoli 18/10/17
Man City can put themselves on the brink of qualification for the knockout stage with victory over Napoli. The English side have started with two wins, a 4-0 thrashing of Feyenoord and a 2-0 over Shakhtar Donetsk.
Napoli are three points back of City, having recovered from a shock Matchday 1 defeat to Donetsk with a routine 3-1 win over Feyenoord. They have won all of their eight league matches in the Serie A though!
City have slowly emerged as a key player in this competition, and they will look back fondly at this fixture because this marked their first ever match in the Champions League six years ago. Napoli, though, have never won away to English sides in five previous attempts.
City are unbeaten in their last 11 home matches in the UEFA Champions League (W8 D3), qualifying included, since that Juventus reversal on matchday one in 2015/16. While scoring goals for sheer fun, they have also gelled into a tough defensive unit, keeping a clean sheet in six of their last eight matches.
