After pulling off a 3-1 away win over Zurich in the Europa League, Napoli return to the Serie A action as they welcome Torino to the Stadio San Paolo.
Although they are on the verge of securing the Champions League promotion, the hosts will probably have to wait for another season to try to wrap up the Serie A title. Still, Napoli boast an almost perfect home record (W9, D2), as they remain one of two Italian teams that are yet to lose at home this term. Unstoppable at home, the Blues have racked up a seven-game winning run across all competitions, scoring 2+ match goals seven times in the process. In the same sequence, Carlo Ancelotti’s men have kept four clean sheets, restricting their rivals to a maximum of one match goal three times. What’s more, the Partenopei have come up as a winner in four successive H2H meetings with Torino at this venue before being held to a 2-2 draw the last time these two played here.
Meanwhile, two wins in their last three SA outings have seen the visitors returning Europe promotion fight. For Torino, goals have been at a premium. The Maroons have scored 2+ match goals in two of their last ten games across all competitions, failing to hit the back of the net four times in the process. Walter Mazzarri and his men head to the Stadio San Paolo in a good mood having kept a clean slate in their last three SA clashes. But, it will be a daunting prospect for the Bulls to pick up all three points here, considering they’ve failed to secure a victory on their previous six SA road trips (D5, L1), with five of those games producing under 2.5 goals. No Italian team has played out more draws away from home than Torino (9), which seems to be their greatest problem this term.
