Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to post a fifth consecutive Ligue 1 win over Nimes when the two sides meet at the Stade des Costières.
A surprising 1-0 away win over Montpellier on the eve of the international break did bring Nimes’ four-game winless Ligue 1 streak to an end (D2, L2). But, it also means that the hosts failed to get on the scoreboard before the 84-minute mark in three consecutive league outings. At home in Ligue 1, ‘Les Crocodiles’ have accrued a win, a draw, and a loss this term, with both of those results (win/loss) seeing the winner on the day score precisely four goals. Nimes will, however, have to come up with something special to avoid defeat here, as they’ve lost all three of their only previous H2Hs held at this venue, failing to find the back of the net in two.
Meanwhile, the visitors have managed to put a disappointing Ligue 1 start (L2) behind them, putting together four league wins, three of which were ‘to nil.’ Furthermore, all of PSG’s last three Ligue 1 triumphs saw them score in both halves and beat their opposition of the day via at least a two-goal margin. The ‘clean-sheet’ theme has highlighted the reigning champions’ away matches this season, as all of their three such contests have witnessed the winner on the day shut out the opposing side (W2, L1). Interestingly, Thomas Tuchel’s men have opened the scoring in both of their previous Ligue 1 trips and went on to score precisely once beyond the 60-minute mark.
