Paris Saint-Germain vs AS Monaco 16/04/18
The Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain, will be hosting AS Monaco at the Parc des Princes, in a game that won’t affect the standing, but will be significant in the sense of pride and prestige. PSG are looking to maintain an impressive league form, as they’ve won nine consecutive games in the French championship prior last week’s 1-1 draw with St. Etienne away from home, while Monaco will be seeking eight-victory in ten games and their first win over the big rivals after five defeats in a row. Although the Parisians have been dominant in the Ligue 1 from the start in terms of football style and results, the Champions League elimination to Real Madrid has thrown shade at their season. As for Les Monégasques, they’ve started off the season on the wrong foot, both in Europe and the national championship, but they were raised their game over the course of the year, securing the Champions League appearance for the third season in a row.
Unai Emery doesn’t have Dani Alves, Julian Draxler, Marco Verratti, and club’s biggest star, Neymar Jr, at his disposal as all are struggling with injuries, while Pietro Pellegri, Adama Traoré, and Diego Benaglio won’t be playing in the visiting squad.
