RB Leipzig vs Bayer Leverkusen 10/04/18
Despite a recent drop in form, Bayer Leverkusen are still very much in the Champions League promotion race, as they have just one point deficit to fourth-placed RB Leipzig, whom they are going to face at the Red Bull Arena. After two consecutive victories in the Bundesliga against Bayern Munich and Hannover, Leipzig defeated Marseille 1-0 in the Europa League in the midweek, and a game against the Company XI could be decisive in securing the Champions League football for two years in a row in their only second season in the German top-flight. The Bulls are going through a rough period as they have just two wins in their previous five matches in the Bundesliga including an impressive 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich, while Heiko Herrlich’s side won three times in last five away matches, losing only to Koln by two goals to nil. Two teams have played a thrilling game at at the BayArena in November, which ended in a 2-2 draw and considering their playing style, this could be a pretty efficient encounter.
Ralph Hasenhüttl doesn’t have Konrad Laimer, Marcel Halstenberg, Fabio Coltorti, and Stefan Ilsanker at his disposal because all are struggling with injuries, while Lucas Alario won’t be available for the visitors. Lars Bender, Joel Pohjanpalo, and Jonathan Tah are all in doubt.
