Real Sociedad and Granada will face off against each other at the Reale Seguros Stadium, as the home side seek a sixth consecutive win in the La Liga H2Hs.
The hosts have been struggling for form since the resumption of football in June, winning just one of seven La Liga games in the post-pandemic period (D2, L4), with five of those matches seeing both teams score. Curiously, though, nine of Real Sociedad’s last ten league fixtures have ended separating the sides by under 1.5 goals (W3, D2, L5), with three of their four previous La Liga results (win/loss) yielding the identical 2-1 scoreline. Tight contests have lately been displayed at the former Anoeta, too, with eight of Sociedad’s last ten top-flight home clashes producing the full-time margin of one goal or less (W5, D2, L3). Still, the Reale Seguros Stadium has been a venue of entertainment this season, as 70.59% (12) of 17 La Liga games held here have featured over 2.5 goals.
Meanwhile, despite scoring over 1.5 goals in four of seven matches since the league’s restart, the visitors have won just twice in seven La Liga outings since June (D3, L2). But, for Granada, goals have been in short supply on the road, as they’ve netted one goal or less in nine of their last 12 La Liga trips (W2, D3, L7), which has been true in three of their four previous top-flight trips to Sociedad (W1, D1, L2). Also, agonizingly slow away starters, the ‘Nazaríes’ have shipped the opening goal (if any) in 64.71% (11) of 17 La Liga road games so far this term. What’s more, Granada’s inability to respond to the opener saw them return just three points from applicable matches (D3, L8).
