Tottenham Hotspur welcome Bournemouth to the Wembley Stadium looking to clinch their fifth consecutive Premier League triumph to keep up the pace with Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Spurs come into this meeting following an outstanding 6-2 road win over Everton last weekend that has seen Mauricio Pochettino’s men scoring a minimum of two goals per match 11th time this season. Tottenham (14) share the second-best winning record in the English top flight, with only Liverpool (15) securing more wins than them so far. However, the Spurs have lost four out of 18 Premier League clashes this term, as they reside the only team in the English top-tier competition that is yet to play out a draw. Still, Pochettino relays on Tottenham’s impressive record against Bournemouth that has seen them won five out of six competitive H2H meetings with the Cherries.
Meanwhile, a 2-0 home success against Brighton last weekend has brought Bournemouth’s three-game losing run in all competitions to an end. It was also the first time the Cherries have managed to keep a clean sheet after nine competitive outings. Their defensive frailties have seen them conceded a minimum of two goals per match six times in their last eight Premier League encounters. What’s more, Eddie Howe’s men have lost seven of their previous nine competitive games, which is Bournemouth’s worst period since reaching the English top flight back in 2016. Furthermore, Bournemouth have lost on their last three road trips in the Premier League, conceding a minimum of two goals per match in each of those meetings.
