Watford vs Tottenham 02/12/2017
Tottenham’s title bid is spinning out of control, and defeat at Vicarage Road could possibly close the lid on it.
Since beating Real Madrid in the Champions League, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have picked up just four points from five games.
Tuesday’s loss to Leicester was Tottenham’s fourth in the league this season, matching their total defeats from the entire of the 2016-17 season before December.
Spurs, though, have an excellent record against Watford. They have not lost any of their previous eight encounters, winning six of them.
Watford, who nearly fought back to clinch a point against Man Utd in midweek, have two home wins this season. Both of them came against London opposition Arsenal and West Ham.
The Hornets are without Will Hughes after limping off in midweek. Miguel Britos is also a doubt. Victor Wanyama and Toby Alderweireld remain absent for Tottenham, while Christian Eriksen may be given a rest as Pochettino admits the Dane is “mentally tired”.
