Watford vs West Ham 19/11/2017
David Moyes will make his managerial bow as West Ham travel to Watford. It will also be Moyes’ landmark 500th EPL match as a manager, joining Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp in this elite-500 club.
No time to waste as Moyes will need to remedy West Ham’s slumping away form, where they have won once in their last 13 road trips. It was one of the compelling reasons that led to Slaven Bilic and the club parting ways.
Watford have lost three on the spin and have dropped down to mid-table. They have a decent record against the Hammers though, winning three and drawing two in their last six encounters against them.
Veteran goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes could don his gloves despite being substituted with a gashed head in the heart-stopping 3-2 defeat at Everton a fortnight ago. They will be without the influential Troy Deeney though.
West Ham are without Javier Hernandez, who has a hamstring injury, while Michail Antonio, Jose Fonte and James Collins are also injured. Paolo Zabaleta, though, is back in the fold after serving a suspension. Winston Reid is also available despite taking part in New Zealand’s World Cup playoff against Peru.
