West Ham United vs Stoke City 17/04/18
After an encouraging 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, West Ham United will be hosting the struggling Stoke City at the London Stadium looking for a victory that would virtually guarantee them the Premier League football for the next season. The Hammers made huge investments last summer hoping they could find the way to Europe, but things haven’t gone well, as they are now trying to avoid relegation, and there isn’t a better opportunity than facing the team that haven’t win a single game in the league for three months. The Potters desperately need a positive result to keep their hopes of staying in the English top flight for another year, but considering their overall performance this season, and especially over the last few months, only a miracle can save them from relegation. West Ham have won two out of their previous five matches at home, while Stoke lost seven out of last ten games away from bet365 Stadium, failing to achieve a victory since October.
Both sides will enter the match significantly weakened, as Michail Antonio, Andrew Carroll, James Collins, Pedro Obiang, Winston Reid, and Aaron Cresswell are all set to miss the encounter for the home team because of injuries, while Charly Adam, Maxim Choupo-Moting, Konstantinos Stafylidis, and Lee Grant are all ruled out for the visitors due to physical problems. Ibrahim Afellay and Jese are suspended.
