West Ham vs Chelsea 09/12/2017
Even the appointment of David Moyes has hardly lifted the gloom and doom surrounding West Ham. They are now enduring a winless run of eight EPL matches, their worst such sequence since December 2015.
Curiously, Moyes has a fine home record against Chelsea, winning four of the last five encounters! But do note that Chelsea are bossing it against their London neighbours, winning 16 of their past 22 EPL encounters. Only two of those were defeats. Both meetings last season went Chelsea’s way, a 2-1 win.
Essential to Chelsea’s chances is undoubtedly Eden Hazard, who grabbed a brace in the 3-1 win over Newcastle last week.
In the Antonio Conte era, Chelsea have won all 17 EPL games in which Hazard has scored.
Chelsea are without David Luiz (knee) and Danny Drinkwater (virus) is also absent.
Meanwhile, Moyes is set to stick with Adrian in goal with Joe Hart facing being dropped after the Spaniard’s impressive display at the Etihad last weekend, which Man City needed a late goal to win 2-1.
