Houston Dynamo and Dallas are set to square off at the PNC Stadium in a tasty-looking Major League Soccer showdown.

Houston Dynamo are not having the best of times by any stretch of the imagination as they’ve lost four out of five MLS fixtures since late May (W1), including the last two on the spin. Time is ticking for the Texas-based outfit to bridge the gap on the Eastern Conference playoff line. Trailing seventh-placed Nashville by six points, Houston can ill-afford another slip-up. Yet, Paulo Nagamura’s men have alternated between losing (3) and winning (2) across their last five home league outings. That, coupled with Houston’s indifferent overall MLS home record this season (W4, D3, L3), casts doubt on their hopes of getting back to winning ways.

Meanwhile, since a 3-1 thumping of Orlando City in late May, visiting Dallas have alternated between stalemates (2) and defeats (2) across their last four league matches. Dallas’ poor form has thrown their playoff hopes into doubt, allowing eighth-placed Seattle Sounders to reduce the gap to a single point. Unfortunately, the ‘Burn’ cannot rely on their away form to dig them out of table, as they’ve only won one of their last four MLS fixtures on hostile turf (D1, L2). High scoring has been a common theme in Dallas’ recent away league matches as all of the last six have seen 3+ goals and both teams on the scoresheet.
