Slovakia vs Bosnia & Herzegovina

Slovakia and Bosnia & Herzegovina are set to face off against each other in a high-stakes Euro 2024 qualifying Group J clash at Tehelné pole.

Slovakia couldn’t have dreamt of a worse start to their bid to reach a third consecutive European Championship finals, as below-par Luxembourg held them to a tepid 0-0 draw in Trnava on matchday one. That was the sixth straight international Slovakia failed to win (D4, L2) and their fourth stalemate on the trot, highlighting the team’s steady decline after qualifying for back-to-back Euro finals. Ominously for the ‘Falcons,’ they started both those qualifying campaigns with a win, while they now must play catch-up on Bosnia and Portugal. Under-pressure manager Francesco Calzona can already feel the heat after going winless in his first five games in charge of Slovakia (D4, L1).

Visiting Bosnia will be looking to take advantage of their hosts’ struggle to solidify their bid to qualify for the first-ever Euro finals as an independent nation. The Bosnians got their Group J campaign off to a flyer, thumping Iceland 3-0 on home tuft on day one to make it three wins in their last four competitive outings (L1). However, the visitors have been up the creek without a paddle on the road lately, going winless on their last five international travels (D3, L2) while never scoring more than once in that sequence. But after winning their only previous competitive visit to Slovakia, they’ll be confident about turning those fortunes around.
