Craven Cottage sets the stage for an all-London Premier League clash between Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.

Fulham’s slim chances of securing an unlikely European finish suffered another blow last weekend as they lost 2-1 at Wolverhampton, deepening their result crisis on the road. However, they’ve fared well at Craven Cottage in 2024, avoiding defeat in four of their five home league games (W2, D2), including a 3-0 thumping of Brighton last time out. By extension, eight of Fulham’s ten Premier League wins this season have come on home turf. Yet, facing high-profile opponents has been the Cottagers’ Achilles heel, as evidenced by their dismal home record as pre-game underdogs (W1, L4). Bucking that trend against Tottenham seems near-impossible, considering they’ve lost the last seven top-flight H2Hs at Craven Cottage, netting under 1.5 goals on each occasion.

Tottenham’s imperious away record against Fulham is not the only encouragement Ange Postecoglou’s side can get amid a fierce battle for the last Champions League qualifying spot. Spurs dismantled fellow top-four hopefuls Aston Villa 4-0 in the previous round, closing the gap on Unai Emery’s fourth-placed side to only two points. With a game in hand, the Lilywhites must relish their chances of returning to Europe’s top table, but they must improve their away form to make that happen. Indeed, before running riot at Villa Park, Tottenham had gone winless on three successive Premier League travels (D2, L1), conceding 2+ goals in each game. Getting on the scoresheet would see Spurs make club history after scoring in their first 27 league games for the first time since 1950/51.
