Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur 30/11/20
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge in an all-London Premier League match-up, as the two sides battle it out for a top place in the standings.
The hosts have enjoyed an upturn in results of late, going from back-to-back league draws to three successive victories, all of which came by at least two-goal margins. Indeed, Frank Lampard’s men have often tried to win with dignity, scoring an average of 3.2 goals per Premier League triumph this term. Additionally, the ‘Blues’ have netted a league-high 22 goals, scoring over 2.5 goals per game in each of their last three home Premier League fixtures (W3, D2). Chelsea’s attacking set-up usually sparks into life after the half-time break, as evidenced by the fact 68.18% (15) of their 22 league goals scored so far arrived in the second half of play. Given Tottenham’s footballing stature, it may come as some surprise that Chelsea have lost just one of their 21 top-flight H2Hs as hosts this millennium (W14, D6, L1)!
Meanwhile, the visitors have put together four consecutive Premier League triumphs, three of which came by a one-goal margin, with the deciding goal in each such win arriving no earlier than the 70-minute mark. Notably, though, the ‘Spurs’ boast a perfect away league record (W4), returning an intimidating +10 goal difference from those trips (GF: 13, GA: 3). Jose Mourinho’s men were quite deadly in the later stages in that sequence, finding the net at least once beyond the 70th minute in each of those four trips. At the other end of the pitch, Tottenham have registered a clear majority (77.78%) of their total Premier League goals conceded in the second half of play (7/9), though just one of them arrived away from home.
