In the meantime, Burnley’s disastrous comeback Premier League campaign hit its lowest point last weekend as Arsenal condemned them to their heaviest league loss of 2023/24 (0-5), leaving them stuck in the bottom three. Despite refusing to admit defeat, manager Vincent Kompany faces an uphill task to keep the Clarets at the top table, with no side in Premier League history to win fewer than 17 points after 25 matches ever managing to stay up. If Kompany was to live up to his promise, halting a three-game losing league streak on the road is imperative. But with Burnley conceding precisely three goals in all three defeats, it looks like a huge ask. Confidence stems from a five-match scoring spree in away league action, but it will serve for nothing unless they improve at the back.
