Fulham vs West Ham United

Craven Cottage is the venue as Fulham and West Ham United meet in an all-London Premier League match-up.

Fulham had trouble digesting an unjust 3-1 FA Cup loss to Manchester United on the eve of the international break, as evidenced by an underwhelming 2-1 league loss at relegation-battling Bournemouth last weekend. With Marco Silva still serving a touchline ban after his outburst during that FA Cup defeat to Man Utd, the ‘Cottagers’ face uncertain times amid a woeful four-match losing run in all competitions. But they’ve already tallied three wins in the ten Premier League London derbies in 2022/23 and could make it four in a single season for the first time in the club’s history. That won’t be an easy task, though, with Fulham losing four of their last five Premier League encounters against West Ham (D1) since a 2-1 win in 2014.

As for West Ham United, a humiliating 5-1 home defeat to Newcastle United in midweek Premier League action threw David Moyes’ future in doubt, knocking them down from a four-game unbeaten run in all competitions (W3, D1). Despite mustering four points in their last three Premier League matches (W1, D1, L1), the ‘Hammers’ are still flirting with the drop zone, as they languish level on points with 18th-placed Bournemouth at the start of this matchday. Taking the road can only amplify Moyes’ troubles, considering his men are winless and without a clean sheet in their last 11 Premier League matches on hostile turf (D3, L8) since dispatching Aston Villa 1-0 in August 2022.
