Juventus vs Torino

Allianz Stadium is the venue as eternal rivals Juventus and Torino go head-to-head in the 156th Derby della Mole in Serie A.

Juventus found an alternate route into next season’s Champions League after Angel Di Maria’s hat-trick inspired Massimiliano Allegri’s side to a 3-0 second-leg win at Nantes last time out, catapulting them into the Europa League round of 16. Back to Serie A, where they’ve won all three matches in February by an aggregate score of 6-0, ‘I Bianconeri’ continue their unlikely pursuit of Champions League placings. After January’s 15-point deduction and a topsy-turvy three-game form on home turf (W1, D1, L1), Allegri’s men started this round a whopping 12 points below fourth-placed Roma. However, Juventus will be confident about maintaining their purple patch against a Torino side they’ve not lost to in any of their last 17 meetings in all competitions (W13, D4).

As for Torino, an underwhelming 2-2 home draw against basement boys Cremonese last time out likely condemned them to another season without European football. Ivan Juric’s men have fallen 11 points behind the top-six pace after managing just one win in their last four league outings (D2, L1). Indeed, ‘I Granata’ have turned into ‘stalemate specialists’ in 2023, drawing a league joint-high five games in Serie A since the turn of the year. Though they’d gladly settle for another share of the spoils here, it could prove easier said than done, with Torino going winless on their last two Serie A travels (D1, L1), including a 1-0 defeat at AC Milan on their most recent road trip.
