Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest

Premier League title hopefuls Liverpool will be looking to protect their 26-game unbeaten home record against Nottingham Forest (W20, D6) when the two teams lock horns at Anfield this weekend.

Arne Slot has been a history maker since replacing Jurgen Klopp in the Liverpool dugout, overseeing three straight Premier League wins ‘to nil’ at the start of his managerial tenure at Anfield. In doing so, he became the first manager in the Premier League to win his first three league matches without conceding since the deceased Sven-Goran Eriksson. Slot earned high acclaim from the Reds faithful following an overwhelming 3-0 victory against bitter rivals Manchester United last time out. He’ll be confident about maintaining his dream EPL start, buoyed by Liverpool’s mind-blowing record of losing just two of their past 62 top-flight outings at Anfield (W47, D13). On top of that, the Merseyside giants have suffered just one defeat across their last 24 Premier League matches when returning from the international break (W18, D5).

While Nottingham Forest cannot match Liverpool’s high-flying league start, they’ve enjoyed a promising beginning to the 2024/25 EPL campaign, taking five points from the first three matches (W1, D2). Encouragingly for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo, the visitors’ only league win thus far came on the road, courtesy of a narrow 1-0 win at newcomers Southampton in round two. The Portuguese manager could’ve claimed more points, as his side took the lead in both league draws against Bournemouth and Wolverhampton. Nonetheless, the Tricky Trees take this trip in high spirits after winning their last three top-flight games away from home.
