Manchester United vs Fulham

A place in the FA Cup semi-finals is open for the taking as Manchester United and Fulham lock horns in an exciting quarter-final tie at Old Trafford.

A 1-0 second-leg win at Real Betis in midweek Europa League action confirmed Manchester United’s qualification for the quarter-finals as 5-1 aggregate winners, helping Erik ten Hag’s side bounce back from last weekend’s morale-damaging 0-0 home league draw against basement boys Southampton. The ‘Red Devils’ have already lifted the League Cup title this season and are now looking to do the same in the FA Cup for the first time since 2015/16. They’re three wins away from achieving that goal and after going unbeaten in their last 16 home outings in the FA Cup (W14, D2), they’ll be confident about extending their jaw-dropping 15-match unbeaten H2H run against Fulham in all competitions (W12, D3). Moreover, they’ve been victorious in their last eight FA Cup ties against this opposition!

Meanwhile, visiting Fulham dispatched fellow Premier League rivals Leeds United 2-0 in the previous FA Cup round to seal a quarter-final berth for the first time since 2009/10. However, after failing to make it out of the FA Cup last-eight in the last three attempts, the ‘Cottagers’ have every reason to feel concerned about their chances of advancing into the semi-finals for the first time since 2001/02. Accomplishing that feat would require the London outfit to round past two top-flight opposition in a single FA Cup campaign for the first time since 2002/03 and in turn avenge a heartbreaking 2-1 home defeat in the Premier League earlier this season. But Marco Silva’s men have lost back-to-back league matches in the build-up to this trip, conceding precisely three goals on both occasions.
